In the early '90s, keeping pace with technology, Hedge moved to the small dish satellite TV systems and Direct TV.
"In about '95-96, Dish Network came out with their small dish and that's most of the small systems we do now, the Dish Network."
Today, Frederick said the store sells a lot of electronic pianos, very few organs, and quite a few used pianos.
"Through all these years, the band instruments have been constant. Every year we have a new crop of kids starting out with band instruments, and we're in back fixing them up as they bend them or break them or whatever," he adds with a laugh.
"A product Hedge has just begun carrying", Frederick said, "is Starband, which is a satellite dish that not only gives you TV but you get the Internet off it, too. It's extremely fast Internet access."
The HM Rental side of the business began in 1993 to offer a rent-to-own line of furniture and appliances. For folks in town only temporarily, those who can't afford to purchase out-right, or those who want to avoid their technology growing obsolete, rental offers an alternative, Dan said.

Last year Hedge added Cellular One phone service to their electronics line.
Through all the product changes over the years, Frederick said he's very proud that they have always been able to offer not only a product, but also the education to use that product.
"We spend a lot of time educating the customer - it's one of the things I think we do well. So much of our product is something people have never used before - whether it's band instruments or electronics or pianos or whatever it may be completely new to them so we like to take time and talk things over with them. It's more important to have something you know how to work, than to just have something that works."
